성도님들 모두 새로워진 주보를 보셨지요? 몇 가지 필요에 의해 주보의 양식을 새롭게 바꿔나가고 있고, 앞으로 몇 주 동안은 계속해서 수정, 보완해 나가는 작업을 하려고 합니다. 어떠한 필요에 의한 변화인지 성도님께 알려드립니다.

첫 번째는 설교의 본문 말씀을 모두 기입하기 위함입니다.  지금까지는 주보의 공간이 부족해서 설교 본문 중,  4-6 구절 정도만을 골라서 넣어야 했습니다.  설교의 본문이 되는 성경 말씀 전체를 넣지 못하다 보니, 핵심이 되는 구절이 빠지는 경우도 종종 있고, 함께 성경 봉독을 할 때에도 중요한 말씀을 함께 봉독하지 못하고 놓치게 되는 때가 많아 안타까웠습니다. 설교에는 본문 말씀이 매우 중요합니다. 모든 본문말씀을 다 주보에 싣지는 못하더라도, 핵심이 되는 중요한 말씀은 빠짐없이 넣기 위해 본문 말씀을 넣는 지면을 더 늘렸습니다.

두 번째는 주보의 내용을 영어와 한어, 두 가지 언어로 모두 기입하기 위함입니다. 이 전에는 제가 한어 예배와 영어 예배에서 동일한 내용으로 설교를 하였기 때문에, 한어 예배에 참석하신 영어 회중의 성도님도 영어 주보를 받아 보시는 것이 가능했지만 지금은 두 예배의 설교 내용이 달라 영어회중의 성도님이 한어 예배에 오실 경우 도움을 받을 수 있는 주보가 없게 되었습니다. 따라서 한어예배의 주보에 한어와 영어, 두 언어를 다 지원해 드려야할 필요가 생겼기 때문입니다.

세 번째는 감사헌금제목을 기입하기 위함입니다. 개인과 가정의 감사 제목들을 성도들과 공유함으로 서로 축하하고 축복해주는 교제를 누리고, 각자의 일상 생활에서 하나님을 향한 감사의 제목을 찾는 습관을 키워, 베풀어 주신 은혜에 대한 감사를 늘 하나님께 고백하고 표현하도록 하기 위함입니다.

주보는, 예배를 돕고 기록하는 중요한 도구입니다. 잘 사용하시면 예배에 은혜를 더할 수 있고, 보관여부에 따라 개인의 신앙 역사의 소중한 기록으로 삼을 수도 있습니다. 이런 의미에서 성도님들도 주보에 애정을 갖고 봐주시고, 추가되거나 보완되기를 원하는 의견이 있으면 알려주십시오. 귀한 의견들을 수렴해서 미라클랜드의 주보를 완성해 나가겠습니다. 

The church bulletin is changing afresh.

Dear Miracleland, have you seen the new church bulletin?  Due to some necessities we are renovating the format and in the future weeks to come, we will continue to adjust and improve it. Let me share with you what the needs are, that called for changes.

First, it is to be able to insert the entire text of scripture.  Up until now, due to lack of space we had to limit our text insertion to four, six verses.  Because we could not fit the entire passage of scripture, there had been occasions when focal verses had to be omitted, and it was lamentable how from time to time we would read aloud the scripture missing the important texts pertinent to the message.  The scriptural text is very important in a sermon message.  Even if we cannot fit the whole text, we increased the space for the scripture so that we can fit without exception, all the important verses that are central to the message.

Secondly it is to enter into the bulletin, contents in both languages, English and Korean.  Previously I preached the same content both in Korean and English so it was possible for the English speaking attendee in the Korean worship service to look at the English bulletin but now the contents of the two services differ so when an English speaker attends the Korean worship, there have been no bulletins that could help that person.  Therefore it is because the necessity for dual language support has emerged.

The third reason is to enter the specific nature of thanksgiving in regards to the thanks offering.  By sharing with the saints our reasons for personal and family thanksgiving, we can celebrate and congratulate one another, and to cultivate the habit of looking for special thanks towards God in our everyday lives, and to always confess and express our thanks to God for His grace.

The church bulletin is an important instrument that chronicles and helps our worship service.  If use it well, it can add to the grace and depending on storage, can serve as a treasured record of one’s own personal history of faith.  In this sense, we ask that you look after the church bulletin with care, and let us know if you have suggestions regarding what should be added or omitted.  We will perfect the Miracleand Bulletin by considering all your valuable opinions.
